Remembering you  with a smile and fond memories Pat on the first anniversary when you were called home.  I can only imagine how beautiful and serene heaven must be where undoubtedly you continue to care for others with the heart of a nurse that will never cease. Special blessings for your children as they finish their first year without their loving mom. Rest in peace my friend.

I worked with Pat at Glenview Naval Air station and saw her occasionally at Great Lakes Naval Hospital.. She was a dedicated, caring, empathic nurse and administrator. I am saddened to her of her death. Dr. Anne Weinrep

I was just told by a friend that Pat and I served with in Vietnam at the 3rd Field Hospital in Saigon in 1968 -1969 about Pat passing last year. I had no idea and I am sorry this sympathy is so late.

Pat was a terrific nurse and a dear friend and her service in Vietnam was exceptional!! I ran the E.R. and Triage and Pat was in the ICU and we worked closely with each other through some very difficult and long hours. I hold her dearly in my memories.

I'll miss knowing she is here in IL. We had such fun at the Reunion she planned in Chicago!!

Dear Maravola family.
 I met Pat when we began the Illinois Women's Military and Civilian Memorial. Pat was part of our board for several years. At first, our board met at different places. Pat opened her home to us for one of the meeting. I have fond memories of that one . It was like family. 

Pat and Jackie were both nurses in Vietnam, and would tell us about their work. Some funny , and some sobering. 

I feel lucky to have known her. May she rest in peace.

I got to know Pat when she worked as the Occupational Health Nurse at the NAS Glenview Naval Branch  Medical Clinic. I arrived in August 1990 to serve as the Senior Enlisted Advisor of the clinic.  We lost touch after I retired from the Navy and finally headed home to where I was born and raised in Indiana.
     We were able to reconnect on Facebook and actually had a brief visit as she was passing through the little town we settled in, Lebanon, just off I-65. She was on her way down to see a good friend in Kentucky. 
     I am sad to hear about her passing. I certainly was surprised to see Leslie's post on her mom's Facebook page. Sending my deepest and sincere condolences to her family. Her kids meant a lot to her and she was definitely one proud Grandma. Family was very important to her.
      Rest easy my friend.  We honor a life that was lived to the full, We honor a spirit, now free.  You'll long be remembered whenever we say:  "Fair Winds and a Following Sea" . We got the watch Pat so you can rest in peace.  Sue Burnworth, HMC, USN, RET

I am so sad to hear of Pat’s passing. Pat is a role model for me. She was a great nurse who dedicated her career to the service of others and to our country as an Army Nurse in Vietnam and then a civilian working for the Department of Defense. It was my privilege to work with Pat for several years and I will be forever grateful for her advice and friendship. To Pat’s family: I can only imagine what a terrible loss this is. Please know that I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I pray that God will comfort you and guide you through this.

So saddened to hear of her passing . So many great memories of good times shared with her  - both working and social.  May she rest in peace.   She will be missed.

My husband Bob and I served with Pat at 3rd Field Hospital in Vietnam during the war. We shared so much during that difficult time taking care of the wounded and dying soldiers.  When I came home, I was in Pat’s wedding. Many years later we reconnected and Bob and I attended all of Pat’s children’s weddings. We also worked together for a reunion of 3rd Field Hospital held in Chicago. My Bob died two years ago but we both loved Pat. Pat was so smart, kind, and giving. We are kindred spirits!
