Robert Lee Fisher, 73, of Waukegan passed away peacefully at home on March 9th, 2017. Born September 10th, 1943, Bob was the first of five sons to Charles Robert Fisher and Jean Darlene Sprague. At age 17, he joined the United States Air Force as an Airman Third Class. During his time in the USAF, he worked with aircraft mechanics and on ground crews. He also flew with airlift cargo missions to help supply troops in Vietnam. Following his time in the USAF, Bob was a Machinist at Johnson Motors and worked in construction. He actively donated to charitable organizations dear to him, these included: The American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens, The American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Police Benevolent and Protective Association of Illinois, United Service Organizations, United States Olympics Committee, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, music, fixing and building things, teaching and sharing stories, and spending time with his family. Bob was a selfless man, always putting others first without wanting or needing any recognition. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his brother, Don, nephews, Eric and Justin (sp. Cass), and niece, Michelle. The visitation memorial will be held on March 17, 2017 at Marsh Funeral home; 305 N. Cemetery Road in Gurnee, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
