Ronald B. Gammad

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Road in Gurnee. For those unable to attend the visitation on Friday, a brief visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, from 8:30 am until the funeral mass at 9:30 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd in Gurnee.

Ronald was born in Makati, Philippines, on June 27, 1958, to Pedro and Sofia (Bangayan) Gammad. He was a curious child who was very independent. In the 1980s, he immigrated to the United States with his family.

On May 6, 1992, Ronald married the love of his life, Alice (Albovias). Together, they raised two children, Rochelle and Ron. Ronald and Alice enjoyed traveling: adventuring through Europe and visiting family and friends in the Philippines.

Ronald was a proud member of the Freemasons as part of the Pilipinas Lodge 1180 and St Cecelia Lodge 0865, and has enjoyed their brotherhood since 2018. Rain or shine, he enjoyed spending his weekends golfing with the Philippine Golf Club (PGC).

He is remembered as a loving, caring man who lived to bring joy to those around him. As a goofy jokester with a huge heart, he believed you should “Never Be Serious.”

Few were as dedicated to family as Ronald. Alice was his everything, and when her father was battling dementia, Ronald was more than willing to provide care and comfort. When his grandson, Arlo, was born, Ronald cherished every moment he could with him, watching him two to three days a week and ensuring there were plenty of memories and laughs to be had. Alice and Arlo were two of the most important people in his life.

He was preceded by his parents, Pedro and Sofia Gammad, and siblings Sabrina, Meliton, Benjamin, and Alfredo.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alice Jane Gammad; his children, Rochelle Anne Gammad (Alex) and Ron Justin Gammad (Rejiemay); his grandson, Arlo Ronaldo; his siblings, Andres, Milagros, Norma, Ricardo, and Jacinto; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other family
