

Ronald S Kovarsky, 84 passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 11, 1941 in Waukegan, Illinois, to Stephen and Anna Kovarsky. Ronald is survived by his wife, Katherine, his sons Patrick, Justin, and George (and daughter-in-law Rachel); his grandchildren Rae Ann, Tyler, and Sydney; his brother Daniel; and his sister-in-law, nephews, and nieces. Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, John Kovarsky.
Ronald grew up in North Chicago, Illinois. He went to St. Bartholomew’s grade school in Waukegan, Illinois, North Chicago Community High School in North Chicago, Illinois, and Quigley Preparatory Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating high school, Ronald enlisted in the Army.
In the Army, Ronald served with the 226th United States Army Security Agency Operations Company (C), Kanghwa-Do, South Korea, where he met his future wife, Katherine. He went on to serve in Vietnam before returning to South Korea to marry Katherine. After returning home to North Chicago, Illinois to raise their three sons with Katherine, Ronald worked at Abbott and Abbott Park in North Chicago, Illinois, for over 35 years before retiring. He went on to work other jobs before fully retiring and moving to Gurnee, Illinois.
Ronald loved his family and his cats Isis, Kalli, and Montana. He loved trains, and cowboy and war movies. He loved building and fixing things, and helping others. Ronald lived a full and blessed life. He was a bright personality who accepted everyone as they were.
Ronald is very loved and will be dearly missed
A visitation for Ronald will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031.
