Rosalinda “Linda” Doreza Dizon, 71, returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 19, 2018, after a swift battle with unexpected cranial complications. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her in her battle and ultimately gave her peace.
Linda was born on December 21, 1946, in Iloilo, Philippines, to Primo and Lilia (Guevara) Doreza. In her time in Iloilo, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Paul’s School of Nursing at Iloilo City. It was this achievement that made her a proud Lilymarian, Class of 1967. Her selfless nature of caring for others led to an extensive nursing career. She cared for patients across several wards at St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan, Illinois; Zion Benton Hospital in Zion, Illinois; and Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (formerly known as North Chicago Veterans Affairs Medical Center) in North Chicago, Illinois. Her career was celebrated with her retirement at the age of 57. In addition to patient care, Linda’s love was felt by others as she lived a life of charity with her continual donation efforts.
Linda married Chief Petty Officer Conrado “Rudy” Dizon, the love of her life for 47 years, on July 31, 1971 at St. Dismas Church in Waukegan, Illinois.
Linda was blessed with a loving family and is survived by her husband, Rudy Dizon; her three children, Paul (Susan) Dizon, Lilian Dizon, and John (Tejal) Dizon; her two grandchildren, Isabel Rose Dizon and Olivia Louise Dizon; and her three siblings, Mar (Bella) Doreza, Essy (Pat) Doreza, and Budol (Mae) Doreza.
She was preceded by her parents, Primo and Lilia, and her older brother, Dr. Edsel Doreza.
Please join her family in celebrating Linda’s life. Her wake will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 23 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, Illinois. Her final visitation will be at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, Illinois at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, August 24 with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. A procession to Ascension Cemetery will immediately follow after the Funeral Mass, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be addressed to The Conrado Dizon Family in care of Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, Illinois, 60031.
