Rose A. Banis

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd in Gurnee. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00 AM at St. Brigid Parish - Church of St. Patrick, 15000 W Wadsworth Rd, Wadsworth, IL, with interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL.

Rose was born on June 13, 1943, in Chicago, IL to Victor and Florence (nee Cannelli) Ribando. In 1966, Rose married the love of her life, Peter Banis. Together, the two made their home first in Waukegan, then later Gurnee, to raise their family.

In her spare time, Rose loved to do puzzles and bird-watch. Everyone was always welcome in Rose’s home. She was a natural born caretaker, and she had a sweet and caring disposition. One of her favorite things was spending time with her family. She was a loyal and faithful friend.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Dennis) Banis, grandchildren Matthew (Ellie) Banis, Kyle Banis, and Thea (Jeremy) Banis; siblings Joe (Cathy) Ribando, Rich Ribando, and Phyllis (Randy) Miner and many other dear friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Florence, husband Peter M. Banis, children Ann Marie Banis and Shawn Thomas Banis, and sister Kathleen Yauch.
