Salli E. Leary, 87, of Latrobe, PA died Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born on September 8th. 1937 in Latrobe, PA. Salli was a daughter of the late Thomas R. Leary & Ruth (Hill) Leary Wagner. Salli was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Latrobe & The Church of the Nazarene in Chula Vista, CA.
Salli was employed by the State of California and helped others for 30 years at EDD Unemployment, Disability & Prison Systems. She was on Senior Volunteer Patrol and a caring “Den Mother” to the 1st & 2nd Shift Police Department in Chula Vista, CA! She was also a member of the PNPSW of Fleet Reserve Association in Chula Vista & Imperial Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Watkins, Brothers Thomas E. & James R. Leary, Sisters Betty Schwarz, Dolores “Mitzi” Sherba, Beatrice Ryan & Margaret Welsh, Grandson Jacob Maki, Niece Cheryl Ann “Cherie’ Yanits, 2 Nephews Joseph & Patrick Sherba, Grandniece Christine Suwyn, & Great-grandnephews Nicholas Sundry & Wylan Winsor.
Salli is survived by her second husband David E. Terwilliger, 4 Daughters: Ruth Michele, Lori Ann, Cassandra Ann & Gayle Lynn & husband Sevan Ozartun Sr. Others who will dearly miss Salli will be her loving grandchildren, Amanda A, Samantha & husband John Maki, Joshua A., Justin W. & wife Jenny, Cassidy L. & Tylan Sosnin, Jason W., Eric & Wife Alyssa Semmerling, Michele & husband Joe Rosene, Farron L., Rudy D., Natalie F., Jake N., Sevan Jr. and her adoring great-grandchildren, Brihanna, Elle, Olivia, Ava, Delaney, Shaylee, Jayden, Cheyenne, Grayson, Riley & James.
Special thanks to late sisters Betty, Mitzi, Beatrice & Margaret’s sons and daughters, husbands, wives & children, youngest sister Eleanor & husband George, son & daughters…. For many happy times, warm beds, safe passage, wonderful greetings & a million laughs!
She loved you all!
A celebration of life will be held for Salli from 12pm-3pm on Saturday, May 3rd at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road in Gurnee, IL. 60031, followed by a visitation from 3:30pm-8pm. at 1899 Cedar Lake Rd. Round Lake Beach, 60073.
