Samuel C. Hasty Sr.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Louise Sanders (now deceased) on December 31, 1948. To this union, seven children were born: one daughter and six sons. He spent his adult life in Waukegan, Illinois, where he worked as many as 3 jobs at times to provide for his family. In 1968, he began employment with Outboard Marine (Johnson Motors), where he stayed through his retirement in 1992. He was a gifted carpenter, plumber, electrician, auto-mechanic and designer. He loved to draw, paint, fish, garden and a cold beer!

He leaves to cherish his memory one beloved sister, Esther Andrews, Marion, Alabama, four sons, Samuel Hasty Jr., Gurnee, Illinois, Larry Hasty and Michael Hasty (Cheryl), both of Zion, Illinois and Kenneth Hasty, Waukegan Illinois; one daughter, Samala “Renee” Kenney, Gurnee, Illinois and one sister-in-law, Hazel Hasty, Waukegan, Illinois. Also cherishing his memory includes 13 grand- children, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory and Robert Hasty; and three brothers, Abraham, Allen and John Hasty.
