Sheila L Romano nee McCaslin, age 75, of Denver, North Carolina, originally from Gurnee, Illinois, peacefully passed away after a short illness on December 3rd 2018. She was born May 20th 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. Sheila had a love for travel, cooking, and decorating. Her love for her family was beyond measure. Her vibrancy for life was infectious. She will be remembered by many, especially at this time of year, for her Christmas trees, beautifully wrapped gifts and generosity to family and numerous organizations.
She is survived by her daughters Sherri (Bill Martin), and Stacy (Mr. Stacy Long), six grandchildren; Nicole, Eric and Kevin Martin, Tanner, Colton and Austin Long; her sister and brother-in-law Robin and Richard Olson, numerous nieces and nephews as well as one great-niece that she adored. She is also survived by her late husband’s siblings who Sheila considered her own; Marilyn Satkiewicz, Michele Potter, Eugene Romano, Mary Romano and their families.
Preceded in death by the love of her life, Richard Charles Romano (1998), an infant daughter, Catina, her parents; Mildred and Edgar McCaslin, brother Frank McCaslin, mother and father-in-law; Estelle and Isadore Romano, and brother-in-laws Daniel and Rodney Romano.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13th at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL, from
3pm-8pm. Funeral Services will begin at Marsh Funeral Home on December 14th at 10am followed by Chapel Service at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
