Steve Exarhakos

Steve (Stylianos) Exarhakos, 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Highland Park Hospital. He was born on September 5, 1941, in Gytheio, Greece. After marrying his love, Metaxia, he immigrated to Chicago, IL, where he found his passion for cooking and was a proud restaurant owner. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville. In his spare time, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Metaxia; 3 daughters, Angela, Helen and Demetra; 4 grandchildren, Hope, Zachary, Christopher and Stylianos and his brother George (Eleni) and many brother/sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Demetre and Aggeliki: siblings Constandinos, Ioannis, Basilios, Vasiliki, Efterpi, Pantazis and Constandina; grandson Nicholas; in-laws.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 13 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd in Gurnee. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 14 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 N. O'Plaine Road in Libertyville. Interment will follow to New Gracanica Cemetery in Third Lake, IL.
