Teresa Mutya Casapao

Teresa G. Mutya Casapao passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2024, in her home surrounded by loved ones after a long, miraculous battle with cancer. She was a beacon of love and kindness, known for her unwavering dedication to family and her generous spirit.

Born on July 1st, 1956, Teresa formed strong relationships with her immediate family, extended family, and friends. She believed in the importance of familial bonds and encouraged everyone to cherish these connections as deeply as those with our closest relatives.

Teresa personified empathy, grace, and wit, demonstrated by the warmth and sincerity she invited and brought to every space. Her ability to create meaningful, captivating conversations with concision and levity was exceptional.

One of her love languages was giving gifts, a testament to her thoughtful and caring nature. She found joy in bringing happiness to others through her heartfelt presents, always knowing just the right thing to make someone feel special.

Teresa joins her parents and sisters Ate Marilou and Winnie in Heaven and is survived by her spouse: Antonio Casapao; children: Anthony (Ying Tang) Casapao, Andrea (Aaron) Komsri, and Timothy (Madelynn) Casapao; grandchildren: Adelaide, Eleanor, and Amelie; siblings: Lito (Raquel) Mutya, Ricardo Mutya, Malou Mutya, Gigi Mutya, Wowie (Jeff) Esteban, Vicky (Noel) Parada, Cecille (Dexter) Alonzo, Boboy (Popie) Mutya, Joseph (Mickie) Mutya.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire us all.

A viewing service will be held on August 25th from 4 pm to 8 pm, with a prayer service at 7 pm, at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, Illinois, 60031.
