

Thespina “Tess” Petropoulos entered eternal rest peacefully on April 2, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Petropoulos. Loving and devoted mother of the late Alex Petropoulos, Anthony (Becky) Petropoulos and Sophia (Tony) Grassa. Proud grandmother of Lara Petropoulos (Jeremy Cridle) and Jessica Petropoulos; Samuel (Brittney) Grassa, Michael Grassa; and Nicholas and Stefanie Petropoulos. Great-grandmother to Vance and Violet Cridle. Preceded in death by her beloved parents Anthony and Helen Camacaris. Dear sister to the late Nick Camacaris (Sandra), William (Sharon) Camacaris, and Theodora “Cookie” (Nick) Xenos. Fond Aunt “Thea” of many nieces and nephews. Tess led a long and blessed life filled with passion and love for her family and friends. She was passionate about giving back to the community and was an active member of the St. Demetrios Philoptochos and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed volunteering as an elementary school library reading assistant as well as devoting hours of hospital volunteering in the surgical ward. Tess loved entertaining and was the quintessential hostess who opened her home to family and friends for many grand celebrations and holidays. Tess loved traveling the world with her beloved husband, Nick, as well as simple pleasures by his side such as fishing expeditions in upper Michigan. A true fashionista who had a love for horses, tennis, golf and bowling. Tess was charming and loyal with a great sense of humor who loved to laugh and always put her family first. She was loved by all and impacted many lives. May her memory forever be eternal. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 N. O’Plaine Road in Libertyville and funeral service to follow immediately after. Interment at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Memorial donations may be made directly to St. Demetrios Church in her honor.
