Todd A. Urban

Todd was born August 12, 1958, in Waukegan, Illinois the son of the late James Urban and Marjorie (Dickson) Matsie. Todd spent his childhood years growing up in Lake Villa, Illinois, making many lifelong friends and memories along the way. Todd was preceded in death by his father, James Urban, mother, Marjorie Matsie, stepfather, Rocco Matsie, stepbrother, James Matsie, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and his rescue rabbit, Blossom.

Todd is survived by his children, Benjamin (Melissa) Urban and Alex (Sarah) Urban; his sister Kim Couture (Matthew Baars), brother Brad Urban, half-brother, Rodney (Donna) Urban; grandchildren Alexis, Anderson, Alex Jr. (AJ), Logan, Addison and Dillon, his niece Ashley Precht, nephew Nicholas, great niece Chelsea, and dear friend Terry Matsie.

Todd was a skilled mechanic by trade however Todd could repair almost everything. Todd enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He loved woodworking projects he often said he remembered all the wood crafted items his father made. Todd could make a simple piece of driftwood into a piece of art.

Todd believed family was so important. Family is family, and you should always be there for each other no matter what. He ended each conversation with “Luv Ya,” and he truly meant that in his heart.

On his gentle side Todd loved to care for animals. From the tiniest mouse, a butterfly with a broken wing to a massive reindeer, Todd was the animal whisperer. His white bunny Blossom he caught while on a fishing trip, he would say was the best pet he ever had.

On his wild side Todd loved to party and loved loud classic rock-n-roll. Everyone who knew and loved Todd has stories to tell and parties to remember for a lifetime.

Todd, we all know you are up there rockin’ with your air guitar in heaven. Todd always said, “Rock-N-Roll will never die!” Todd you will forever remain in our hearts forever.

Todd would like everyone to remember him by the last words spoken from the mother on Little House on the Prairie.

“Remember me with smiles and laughter

For that is the way I’ll remember all of you

If you can only remember me with tears

Then don’t remember me at all.”

A Celebration of Todd’s life will be announced for a future date.
