Valorie Kay Brock

The family of Valorie Kay Brock 76, of Gurnee is saddened to announce her passing on August 7th, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. All that knew Valorie loved her and will miss her kindness and generosity. Her life was a blessing and she touched so many people.

She was born on March 5th, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charlyne (Rhoads) and George Jacobs. She worked for over 30 years at American Hospital Supply (Cardinal Health). She married Richard Brock on March 3rd, 1967 and made North Chicago home for 29 years where they raised two sons.

Above all, Valorie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was known to all as “Grandma Val”. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family and most specifically her grandchildren. She was always there to offer support, guidance and encouragement.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Patrick (Nancy) Brock, Steven (Jackie) Brock, and her 5 grandchildren Haley, Sydney, Jake, Alex and Nathan.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charlyne and George Jacobs and her brother Jim Felts.

Visitation will be held at Marsh Funeral Home in Gurnee on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM with a service following immediately afterwards. Final interment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
