Victor E. Papendick

Victor E. Papendick, age 88, of Wadsworth, passed away on November 6, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Reta for 65 years. Loving dad of Michael (Linda), Vicki (Robert) Holland, Melanie (Michael) Arndt, Deidre (John) Callan, and Kevin (Mary Lou). Cherished Grandpa of Nathan, Ashleigh, Morganne, Christopher, Patrick, Colin, Lara, Rebecca, Adam, Olivia, and Claire. Great-Grandpa of Harper, Marin, Mason, Caiden, and Levi.

Victor graduated with a BS in Chemistry from Michigan State University in 19598 and earned his Master of Science in Management from Lake Forest School of Business in 1978.

Vic was actively involved in The Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master and The First United Methodist Church for many years.

Victor started his career with Abbott Laboratories and retired as Director of Analytical Research after 35 years. Following his retirement, he spent several years as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry and served on The Clara Abbott Foundation.

In retirement, he enjoyed his love of growing and showing roses in the United States as well as globally. He was an active member of the Gateway Rose Society and was a Consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions services will be held privately. Victor will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL, next to his late wife, Reta.
