Wilfred Martin Nonnenmacher returned home to Our Lord on March 18, 2019. On September 19, 1992 Wilfred married his bride, Rita Marie Goedeker. They raised four children together and were happily married for 26 years. He was the much loved father of Lauren Elizabeth, John William, Caroline Nicole, and William Michael; loving son of Margrit Nonnenmacher (née Troester) and the late Frederick Nonnenmacher; cherished son-in-law of the late Evelyn Goedeker (née Reeder) and the late Raymond Goedeker; brother of Anita (Matthias) Hoehl and Eric Nonnenmacher; brother-in-law of William (Linda) Goedeker, Kathlyn (Stephen) Wieland, Donald (Kathy) Goedeker, Kenneth Goedeker, Timothy (Carol) Goedeker, and Fran (Rhonda) Goedeker; dear uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
He was born on December 19, 1964 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During his childhood, Wil enjoyed his mom’s German cooking and visiting his many relatives in Holzelfingen, Germany. While attending Dexter High School, Wil excelled in academics, music, and sports, and he was named the Athletic MVP of his graduating class. Wil studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan from the years of 1983-1987, and he could rarely be found not sporting maize and blue to support his favorite school. He earned his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University in 1997.
Wil and Rita met while working at Energizer Battery in Cleveland, Ohio in March 1990, and they were engaged by December 1991. During their 29 wonderful years together, Wil and Rita enjoyed traveling many places, including numerous trips to their favorite destination, Hawaii. Wil constantly supported his children in countless ways by coaching his children’s basketball and baseball teams, attending every swim meet, helping with math and science homework, providing career advice, and always being willing to embarrass his family with his dance moves. Wil enjoyed reading up on anything technology-related and watching Michigan basketball and football games with his wife and children. His family treasured his sweet disposition, kind heart, humility, intelligence, and sense of humor.
Thank you, Daddy, for your constant love and support. We will cherish your memory always and miss you forever.
