Mr. Pocock was born in 1922 in Shanghai, China. His career in the entertainment industry spanned some 70 years beginning soon after his service as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a prominent producer of industrial trade shows for Milliken, Westinghouse, Honda and other internationally known businesses. He created the Honda Golf Classic.
As a long-time friend of the theater. Mr. Pocock's association with various theatrical groups resulted in years of service to the entertainment world, including Shepherd of the Lambs Club, and Life Member of the Players Club and the Episcopal Actors Guild.
He is preceded in death by his son James Frederick Pocock. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Charlotte Mae Fairchild, his devoted daughter Gina (Todd); grandchildren Matthew, Taylor, Nicholas and Griffin; sister-in-laws Millie Fairchild Adcox (Bob); Esta Fairchild; Claudia Gherlein (John); and many cousins.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors /Wein and Wein Memorial Chapels, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Pocock’s name to the Actors Fund of America.
