One of her passions was advocating for the rights of the deaf. She spent a huge amount of time in Trenton working tirelessly to set up the Office of the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing which still today serves deaf adults and helps them get the services they are entitled to. One of her proudest achievements was representing the United States in the Olympics for the Deaf held in Washington D.C. in 1966 where she earned a bronze medal in tennis. She passed those passions of helping others and tennis to her daughters.
Most of all Alice loved her family and they loved her independent spirit and amazing zest for life. She was always on the go, whether to a Farmer’s Market or one of her favorite restaurants for lunch.
Alice will be missed and forever remembered by her daughters Cindy Bequeaith (Geoff Bequeaith), Naomi Soll (Norman Herman), their children and grandchildren. She will also be missed and remembered by her cousins, nieces, nephews, all their families and her many friends.
Alice was a huge supporter of US veterans and their families and always felt a strong need to give back to those who served. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to:
