Allan, Monroe, Lamstein, born and raised in the Bronx, passed away on June 2,, 2018 at his Oradell, NJ residence of 47-years at the age of 84. He is survived by his beloved wife Susan, daughters Joanne Lamstein, Cathy Lamstein-Reiss, and Johanna Lamstein, son-in-law Michael Reiss, and cherished grandsons Brandon Reiss, Joshua Reiss and Landon Jacob Lamstein. Allan was pre-deceased by his adored sister Judith Charney, brother-in-law Leonard Charney, and parents Pauline and Jacob Lamstein.
Allan and his friends grew up imitating his favorite baseball greats, the Brooklyn Dodgers, playing curb ball and stick ball late into the summers. On a fateful evening in November of 1960, Allan met Susan at a cocktail dance and they were married shortly after on June 28, 1962.
Allan’s passion for music led him to follow his dreams of hosting a weekly radio show “On the Bandstand with Al Monroe” playing his favorite music of the Big Band Era and the Great American Songbook. He was actively involved in talent representation and musical charities that developed lifetime memories and friendships.
Funeral service was held Tuesday June 5th at our chapel, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
Interment will followed at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
