Alma Miriam Staloff

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the sudden passing of Alma Miriam Staloff (Schwack), 76, on December 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Warren Staloff, and is survived by her children, Rachel Bornander (William Bornander) and Noah Staloff (Megan Staloff), her grandchildren, Benjamin, Gabriel, Madelyn, and Lillian, and her longtime sweetheart, Joel Rosenblatt. Alma was a long time resident of Mt. Arington, New Jersey, a graduate of Boston University and Teaneck High School. Alma’s professional life included being a Special Education teacher in Mahwah, a medical secretary for Dr. Hershman’s pediatric practice, and a receptionist at CS Gymnastics. She was a longstanding congregant and board member at the Lake Hopatcong Jewish Community Center in Hopatcong. Alma had a passion for creating personal, thoughtful, and unique bibs and quilts, which led her to creating her own business, “Quiltmaker.” When she wasn’t at her sewing machine, Alma enjoyed reading, visiting with friends and family, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Donations can be made in her memory to Lake Hopatcong Jewish Community Center or PJ Library.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652.
