Born on May 3, 1931, in the Bronx, New York, Arlene pursued music at the prestigious Juilliard School, where she earned an Artist's Diploma in Vocal Performance. Her love for the arts remained a defining aspect of her life, and in her 60s, she expanded her creative pursuits into concert production, working with string players—particularly guitarists—from around the world.
Beyond music, Arlene was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an avid gardener and earned a Master Gardener diploma from Rutgers University. Her creativity extended to fashion as well; she was an expert knitter and designer of women's suits. She was also driven in her charitable endeavors, ranging from international student exchange programs to promoting up-and-coming classical musicians.
Arlene was a multi-layered powerhouse—fearless and driven by her intelligent ambitions and strong moral compass. Yet beneath that strength lay a shy woman with a reverent sense of humor and a gentle nature that endeared her to those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Ileen Zovluck.
Arlene’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her artistry, intellect, and kindness.
