Bernd Boden has left a powerful legacy. He will never be forgotten. He was a hero to those who knew him, a real hero and not a made-up superhero as in film. His early life began amid the Holocaust and was devastating. Miraculously he survived along with his mother but not his father and grandmother. As an 11-year-old he arrived in the US and successfully started another phase of his life. With his partner Karla, they had 3 children and then 4 grandchildren. What would a portrait of Bernd look like? He was so very genuine, real. He had a huge heart and a glorious soul. He was always there for his family and friends and also his colleagues. In his quiet and unassuming way, he enriched the lives of others.
