Mr. Dagen, what can i say, wow. I was afraid of him, he was always so tuff but stern. He was a great science teacher and he was a great valuable member of the community. He mentored many kids who needed it. I remember when i gave him a letter with money so he could buy me some WWF wrestlers. He came by my house and dropped them off, he made a 10year old very happy. Wish I was able to talk to him as a young adult to thank him for who he was..unfortunately I had moved.
You'll be missed Mr. Dagen.

Bruce found great meaning in life by contributing to the greater good.
His empathy, compassion, wisdom, and boundless energy touched so many lives, mine included.
He was someone you could always count on and his passing is a great loss for mankind, and as a longtime friend a great sadness for me.
My heartfelt condolences to the family.
Our consolation is his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. Ricky Capsuto

My heart is hurting at the news that this world lost a great human and father figure to many children of the South Bronx, especially students of PS48. Mr. D (as he was known by many) was an amazing man who stepped into mine and my twin brother lives in 1976 as second graders at PS48. He protected us from being bullied at school and always made sure he celebrated our birthdays and Christmas. He filled the role of a loving caring father in the absence of one in our home. I know he filled this role for many kids like us in similar circumstances and we were all so blessed to have him in our lives, he made us better people because of his love. My condolences to his daughters who shared their dad with the world and because they did they improved this world immensely, thank you. May the pain you're feeling right now be eased by the love all of your surrogate brothers and sisters are sending your way. You'll be missed so much Mr. D, love your son, Heckle.

Bruce was one of my oldest friends, since our days together as counselors at Cejwin Camps in the early sixties. Too many memories to list here. I will miss him.

Bruce Dagen was like a father to me. I called him Pop. I was 12 yrs old when I met Pop in the summer of 1970. I have fond memories of our outings to the arcade and Hershey park when I was a kid. He also bought my first bike. He has always been there to guide, mentor and encourage me throughout my teen and adult life. He was a great man with an amazing heart. I will truly miss him. Rest In Peace, Pop.

Bruce and I go back many years to the 60s when we first met at Cejwin Camps. We had so many wonderful times together and I remember Bruce meeting up with Sue at my house in Dobbs Ferry often. A group of us were lucky enough to see Bruce in a Zoom meeting I had the day before he passed away. I will miss him. Rest In Peace my friend
