Born in Dayton, Ohio to Harold and Helen Fairchild, Charlotte lived in Englewood for the last three years at the Actors Home.
Charlotte was an accomplished actress of stage, film and television for more than 50 years performing on and off Broadway in many productions, including "Mame," "Mr. President," "Fiorella," "Damn Yankees," "42nd Street" and "Oh Coward." Her film credits include "Sisters" and "Rise of America," while her television accomplishments include "We Interrupt This Season," "The Nurses," "The Reporters," "Dark Shadows" and "One Life to Live."
Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, AJ Pocock, her step-son, James Pocock, and her nephew, John Gherlein. She is survived by her loving sisters Millie Fairchild Adcox of Demorest, Ga.; Estamarie Fairchild of Cleveland, Ohio; and Claudia Gherlein of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; her loving brothers Tom Fairchild of Akron, Ohio; and Bob Fairchild of Tucson, Ariz.; her nephews; her great nieces; her loving step-daughter Gina Jarvi Pocock; and her dear friends June Squibb, Jack Lee, Martin Gage, Arthur and Judy Bartow, Joan Stein and Larry Woodward.
A Memorial service will be held on March 28th at 2 p.m. at the Lillian Booth Actors Home, 155-175 W. Hudson Ave., Englewood, N.J.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gutterman-Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte Fairchild's name to the Actors Fund of America, to the Humane Society of the United States or to your local animal rescue organization.
