PARAMUS - Claire Rosenstock Plager September 7, 1930 – August 5, 2026
“To teach is to touch a life forever.”Those words beautifully capture the life of Claire, who passed away on August 5, 2026, just weeks before her 96th birthday. Born on September 7, 1930, Claire devoted her life to the people she loved and to the calling that gave her such tremendous purpose and fulfillment: teaching. More than simply a profession, being a teacher was Claire’s greatest joy and her life’s ambition. She understood that a teacher’s influence extends far beyond the classroom—that knowledge, encouragement, patience, and kindness can remain with a student, family, friends and neighbors for a lifetime.Claire was married for 56 years to her beloved husband, Harris Oscar Plager, who predeceased her.Together they built a life and family that remained at the center of Claire’s world. She is survived by her only child, Mark H. Plager; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Plager; and her grandchildren, Adam and Ilana.
