Clifford Wolfert, 70, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born in Manhattan, New York, and raised in the Bronx, Cliff spent much of his life exploring the country before eventually making his home in Bayonne, New Jersey. There, he built a career with the Daily News and formed many enduring friendships over the years.
Cliff had a lifelong passion for railroads and subways. He knew regional and national train routes by heart and preferred traveling by rail whenever he could. He was an avid reader and collector of train magazines, enjoyed occasional trips to Las Vegas, and appreciated a good steak or seafood dinner.
He will be deeply missed by his brother, Allen Wolfert; his sister-in-law, Adrienne; and his nieces, Jacqueline and Madeline (Brad) Hoffer, . He wished he could watch his great-nephew and great-nieces grow up.
The family is especially grateful for the friendship and camaraderie Cliff found at Sky Cigar Bar, where he shared many good times and made cherished friends
