January 25, 1949 – October 20, 2025
Diane Simone Weinstein, 76, of Township of Washington, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and friends in her final days, on October 20, 2025.
Diane grew up in Fort Lee, NJ, and was a proud graduate of Fort Lee High School. She was the beloved daughter of Mary and Harry Adler, and the cherished sister of Eileen Horowitz, Sandy Lubitz, and Ellis Adler.
Diane was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bob Weinstein, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership until his passing in November 2024. She is survived by her loving daughters, Hilary Weinstein (son-in-law Chris Mika) and Cynthia Heryanto (son-in-law Andi Heryanto); and her adored grandchildren, Morgan Mika (5), Harrison (8), and Stella Heryanto (5). Diane is also survived by her nieces and nephews — Sara & Marcy Lubitz, Amanda & Kevin Horowitz, Max & Sam Adler — as well as her great-nephews Benjamin & Landon Wancier and Addyson & Connor Bill.
For over 22 years, Diane worked as a bookkeeper for Shelter Our Sisters (now called Center for Hope & Safety), a Bergen County non-profit supporting victims of domestic violence. What began as a job quickly became a mission close to her heart. Diane deeply believed in the organization’s purpose and, over the years, formed many lasting friendships with the colleagues who shared her commitment to helping others.
Above all, Diane was devoted to her family. She was the heart and matriarch of her family — hosting nearly every holiday gathering, cooking and baking everyone’s favorite dishes, and ensuring no celebration went unmarked. She was a fiercely dedicated mom who never missed a game, tournament, or school event, proudly earning her title as the ultimate “soccer mom.”
Diane’s warmth extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a gift for listening and genuinely caring about others, always ready to lend a helping hand or come up with an elaborate plan to support someone she loved — sometimes even before they asked for help. Her strong will and boundless energy fueled her endless projects and ideas, many of which were motivated by kindness and her desire to make things better for the people she cared about.
Animals also held a very special place in Diane’s heart. She was a lifelong animal lover who always had dogs by her side — most of them rescues — and cared for each one as a cherished member of her family. Her deep compassion for animals was yet another reflection of her nurturing and generous spirit.
Those who knew Diane will remember her as strong-willed, determined, and full of heart — someone who lived life on her own terms and inspired those around her to do the same.
