Estelle Farhi passed peacefully at the age of 95. She is survived by her son Michael, her daughter-in-law Victoria, her grandsons Ben and Joel and her grand daughter-in-law Amanda. Her beloved husband Joseph and son Robert each passed before her. Born in the last century to Eastern European immigrants, Estelle always marveled at the things she witnessed during her life, from the construction of the George Washington Bridge, which she watched from her home in Washington Heights, New York to the Moon landing, which she saw on television, to the rise of Elvis Presley, of whom she was a big fan. She was employed for many years as a sales representative for the Mattel toy company, promoting herself jokingly as the “mother of Barbie.” She also wrote columns for local newspapers in her hometown of Fort Lee. After her retirement, she spent her time helping others, including as a volunteer for the Alternatives to Domestic Violence court-monitoring program and visiting cancer patients at Hackensack University Medical Center.
