In loving memory of a truly exceptional man. Harold Cohn passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020. His unique spirit and interest in all those around him defined this wonderful man. Harold was a Korean War veteran - member of the United States Air Force - serving from 1950 to 1953. Soon thereafter, Harold met and married the love of his life, Arlene Cohn, and enjoyed a joyous and meaningful 53 year marriage. He took much pride in being the Master Mason of Geba Lodge in New York City. Harold spent the majority of his professional career as an operations executive and then found success as a business owner. Although he officially retired in the 1990s, Harold’s remarkable insight into continuous improvement allowed him to be active and influential in various endeavors up until and including his last nine years as a resident at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh. Among his notable accomplishments during his time at Rockleigh, Harold was responsible for the creation of the Jewish Home’s current tagline, “Advancing the Art of Living.” Harold left an indelible mark on most everyone that he met. He is predeceased by his wife, Arlene Cohn, and his sister, Ruth Levy. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family: his sister, Diane Hirschinger, his brother, Ronald Cohn, his children, Susan Cohn, Debra Meister, and Michael Cohn, his grandchildren, Jessica Meister, Jason Meister, Lisa Cohn, and David Cohn, as well as their families and all those who loved Harold so dearly. If you would like to make donations in Harold’s memory, contributions may be made to the following organizations: Jewish Home Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project or Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF).
