Dear Marge, I am devastated learning today of Ira’s passing. He was my oldest and best friend for so many years. We lost touch several years ago and I have tried to locate you on line unsuccessfully until today. Please let me know if there is anyway I can be of help.

I'm sorry to hear of Ira's passing....my parents passed along this sad news today. I knew him as a fond friend and business partner of my parents. I recollect going to the sneaker store in Lodi picking up and picking out sneakers for us to sell at our store and in the flea markets.
I remember him being very entrepreneurial and having original ideas. I have run across people in my lifetime who went to his store and shopped for their sneakers there! The Sneaker Man lives on...!!!
He was a stand-up guy who was very knowledgeable about the retail business and changing consumer tastes. He was devoted to his friends and could play a good round of golf. He will be missed.
I send my condolences and heartfelt sympathy to his family at this time.

Ira was my brother-in-law and although that was a long time ago, he was a good kind man Until we sold sneakers next to each other at the Yonkers flee market. Trying to sell off, Phil and Ira kept charging less for each pair - competition (ha) to cell off. Looking back we all had a great time making fools of each other.
It’s sad how life ages us and takes us away.
My condolences to Marge, Leslie, David, Jill and Phil. What a crew and I am sorry for all (and grand children) . MARSHA

Hello Marge ,
Lesley and David.
Our sincerest condolences to you for the unthinkable loss you have suffered. He was a unique but wholesome person who loved his life.
We enjoyed many friendly arguments on the links but he always was one stroke better than me . I remember many more friendly arguments we had when we went on our sneaker search travels and the laughs we had when it was time to divide the spoils.
It's a shame our relationship was weakened by geography.
When you live to be 90 you lose many, many friends but this one was special to Irma and I.........Dan Mariani
