Jacqueline Fran Flisler

Jacqueline Flisler sadly lost her decades long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Sunday, August 4, in her home in Fort Lee, surrounded by love. Jackie leaves behind her husband of 44 years, David Flisler, Daughter Amanda Flisler, Son Steven Flisler, Mother Susie Litoff and Brother Dan Litoff. Jackie was born and raised in Fort Lee, graduated from Fort Lee High School in 1976 and was introduced to her husband David through her brother Dan while both were volunteers and friends at the Fort Lee Ambulance Corp.

Jackie spent twenty-nine years working in the medical records office at Bergen Regional Medical Center. She could always be found taking her kids to and from their endless local sports and activities, making homemade lasagna, enjoying her time by the pool with her longtime neighbors, and acting as the editor-in-chief of the family photo albums adding clever captions that continue to bring chuckles and smiles. She was Amanda and Steven's number one fan cheering them on from the stands in Soccer, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball and always wearing her Fort Lee Bridgemen and then later University of Pennsylvania gear with pride. She enjoyed family cruises and beachside visits to Long Beach, NY where she spent her summers as a kid with her Great Grandmother, Aunt & Uncle and Cousins and continued the tradition by bringing Amanda and Steven to boogie board, build sand castles and enjoy ice cream on the beach. Jackie had a very deep connection with Amanda’s dog Buddy, and in her later years, it brought Jackie a lot of much needed joy.

Jackie was a force to be reckoned with and she knew how to have a good time. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is finally at peace and pain-free from an unkind disease that took her far too early from the ones that loved her most.

A celebration of life for Jackie will take place on Wednesday, August 7, graveside at Wellwood Cemetery, 1400 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704 beginning at 10:30am (Wellwood Cemetery shares the office with Beth Moses Cemetery). Shiva to follow at the family’s home in the building community room from 4pm-9pm. In lieu of flowers or food, donations can be made in Jackie’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org and select ‘Tribute Gift in Memory of Jackie Flisler).

Those attending the Graveside should meet at the cemetery office at 10:30 AM. Wellwood Cemetery shares the office with Beth Moses Cemetery.
