

Kenneth was born in Irvington, New Jersey. Son of the late Phillip and Eve Hilsen. Kenneth grew up in Irvington, NJ before attending Rutgers University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Here, he met his beloved wife, Marilyn Hilsen. They were inseparable for 53 years.
After attending Rutgers University, Kenneth went on to the New York University College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He then went on to a joint program with NYU and the New York Veterans Hospital where he was awarded a specialty in prosthodontics. Kenneth practiced in Bergen County for 50 years. He was a long-time member of the American College of Prosthodontists, a diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the past President of the New Jersey Sleep Society.
Kenneth loved to play golf and would play as much as he could. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Kenneth loved to travel with his family and always looked forward to our annual ski trip. Kenneth had a wonderful way of telling stories and was loved by his many close friends.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hilsen, his son Alex Hilsen, daughter Erica Gatsik and son-in-law Eric Gatsik; his grandchildren Abigail and Emily Hilsen and Benjamin and Zoe Gatsik. Kenneth is also survived by his brother Neil Hilsen, brother-in-law Harlan Rausch and sister-in-law Leslie Rausch, as well as his many adoring nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 17th at 1:00pm at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah Mausoleums at the Cedar Park and Beth El Cemeteries, 735 East Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey.
