Dr Ziegelman,  was our children’s doctor from the 1976 until we moved to California in 1998.  Always a caring, helpful and nurturing person, he saw us through everything from swallowing pennies, our daughter Lauren to twin cases of chicken pox, our sons Jon and Josh.   One day in June my daughter who was in band and practicing for her high school’s graduation, came home with  a complaint that her ear hurt.   We rushed over to Pedimedica in Closter .  Dr Ziegelman looked in her ear and told the nurse to prepare a siringe of water which he squirted into her ear.  To  Lauren, his nurse and my surprise a bug walked out of her ear.  We screamed while Dr Ziegelman  laughed.   I asked him  how much do I owe you and he replied,  “we don’t charge for getting a bug out of your ear”.
That was David Ziegelman, to know him was to love and admire him.   May his memory be for a blessing.

This week I’m visiting my older son and wife who just had their first child and our first granddaughter.  My son showed me the book 
“The Pocket Pediatrician” by David Zigelman.  I was surprised  to see Dr David’s book and already put it to good use for my granddaughter. Was sad to learn the David passed away. What a loss for any mom and dad with a newborn or young child. I thank you Dr Zigelman for the medical knowledge and talent you gave to my two sons and  the calm manner in which you explained issues that helped a worried mom and dad.  You had a way of making  a problem less painful and always gave hope for the better.  God rest your soul. One of a kind.

Dr. Zigelman was the pediatrician on call that day I gave birth unexpectedly to twin girls - birth pounds- 3 lbs each.

Dr. Zigelman explained everything to my husband and I and rushed our daughters to Cornell Hospital in NYC.

He was our pediatrician to yet another set of twins born to us in 1988- David and Lydia.

Will never forget his humor, compassion, and genuine caring for us -So very sorry to hear of his passing- 🌻

Just heard about Dr Z...He was my 3 daughters Dr. We lived in Westwood, then moved to Freehold. We all loved him so much that for 8 years I drove an 1 hr & 15 mins to the Closter office every time the girls were sick or for well visits. Friends thought I was crazy to drive so far "just for a Dr"  but they didn't know Dr Z & I didn't care we had to have him as our Dr. The only reason the girls had to stop seeing him was I went back to work & was impossible to travel to Closter anymore. My mother just informed me about the passing of Dr. Zigelman. He was the only doctor I remember having as a child. My mother even said he was with me in the delivery room in 1977 when I was born. Even though I haven't seen him in many years, (since he told me at age 20 that I was getting to old to see him), I still would think about him often. He left a wonderful impression on me, that has lasted all the way through my adult life. I will always have a special place in my heart for him. God bless him and his family, he was one of the good guys in this world, and he will be missed. I will see you on the other side Doctor.

We just found out about Dr. Z. This is very sad news in our family because Dr. Z was very special to my sons while they were growing up. He made them feel very comfortable at every visit. My sons are now 30 and 28 years old, but still will never forget Dr. Z. He will always be remembered in our hearts.

Just called the office today and found out about Dr.Z.  I am so sad; he has been my daughter;s doctor for 18 years.  It definitely won't be the same, as I found out today by calling.  He was such a nice person as well as a great doctor.  Rest in peace, and my condolences to his family.

I was very saddened to hear of David's passing.  I met him when I was a new intern and he was a resident at NY Hospital some 40 years ago.  All of we interns loved it when David was supervising us...loved his sense of humor and his knowledge and teaching skill.  His passing is a loss to both his colleagues and his patients.

I am so very saddened to have heard of David's passing.  We attended the Yeshiva of Hudson County (a very long time ago) and became good friends. David and I spent time with one another in class, during recess, doing homework,studying for tests and sometimes partying.  As we grew up our paths took on different directions but the time we shared has always remained dear to me. The traits he developed served him well as he became Dr.Z. Words that come to mind to describe the boy I once knew are kind,trustworthy,generous,sincere and gentle. May your family find strength and consolation to continue on as Hashem shines another star in the heavenly sky to honor David's memory.

Dr. Z was my pediatrician 37 years ago and I sought him out to be my daughter's doctor when we took her home for the hospital.  He was simply the best and will be missed by so many. It is with heavy hearts that my family says goodbye to dr. Z. In the 16 years he has been our pediatrician, he always made us feel comfortable whether we were there for a well visit or one of the kids were sick. He has become more than our doctor,  he has become a part of our family.  He will be greatly missed.

I have worked for Dr.Zigelman for 24 years. It has been an absolute pleasure to say the least. He is one of the main reasons why I loved coming to work every day. Dr. Z was like my 2nd father. I will miss him greatly. He meant the world to me and I love him dearly.He was the best Doctor, boss, and human being there ever was.He was also my daughter's pediatrician. Every year for my sons checkup visit, Dr. Z. would come in singing "Happy Birthday to you, ... ". This man was born to be a pediatrician.   The best ever.  He made jokes about finding SpongeBob or Diego in my sons ear as he examined him.  Cracked us up every time.     He made us feel like we were the only patients he had.   Never made us feel rushed, always welcomed questions and took the time to explain and reassure me.  Dr. Z.  You are a true gem and we will miss you so much.  Thank you for your amazing care.

I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Dr. Zigelman's passing. Although we now live in Atlanta, he was our pediatrician for many years. I also have a signed copy of his book. It got me through many late nights as a worried new mom. I can still hear his voice when I read it. He was a great man who gave so much to his young patients and their parents.

I am so sad and surprised to hear of this news. We just saw Dr. Z a couple weeks ago for my 1 year old daughter's doctor's appt.  My hope was for her to grow up with Dr. Z just as I had (starting 33 years ago!).  He was there when I was born and at every visit I couldnt wait to hear him sing "rock the casbah" as he opened the door for my appointment.  He always put me at ease. Our whole family was so very sorry to hear the news of Dr. Zigelman's passing. My boys are now 23 and 25 years old and they still remember him fondly. To the family of Dr. Z; my children have now "outgrown" the practice, but I will always be so grateful for the excellent care he gave my 3 children. He correctly diagnosed my daughter's scoliosis among other childhood ailments.  He set the bar high for future pediatricians.

My daughter and I are so saddended by this news. Dr. Z. was my daughter's pediatrician from birth through 20 years and 17 months ago he started taking care of my granddaughter, when she was born. It was such a joy to know that 33 years later he was still in practice and my granddaughter was able to see him. I will miss him so much. He was a great man and we will miss him so very much.

Dr. Zigelman was an amazing doctor and friend who saved my life. I love him so much and will miss him. When I was sick he would let me bring my dog to the office and even though I was too old to see a pediatrician he let me stay an extra year anyway :) I am so lucky he was part of my life! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dr Z was a wonderful Dr and person, who went above and beyond the call of duty. When my daughter had some health concerns he took the time to sit and talk with her, he never rushed her out, he made a difference in all our lives. Thank you Dr Z for all you did for us! Dr. Zigelman grew up with my father in north bergern. My father described him as the valedictorian of the town. He was our pediatrician. I remember him when i was small boy, giving us the foam ball so we could play basketball in the hallways of his office while we waited for him. Im just sad that i cant bring my children to him .

When my child was born 11 years ago I was told he wasn't taking any more new patients.  But fortunately because of a cancellation I was assigned to him that day. For 21 years Doc Z was our physician. he took care of my three kids as if one of his own. He always had a smile on his face and always ended our visit with a "good job guys!"  when it came to serious stuff, Doc Z was there to guide us all the way! Dr Z has been our children's pediatrician for 16 years, he has always given all 3 of our children such wonderful care over the years. Especially our youngest who struggled with milestones as a baby and recently, we showed Dr Z a video clip of her singing all alone in her school's talent show during her Kindergarten year...Dr Z kissed her head and left the exam room with tears in his eyes... This was the kind of Dr he was and will always be remembered as. He will be deeply missed by so many. May he rest in peace...

I don't know how to tell my daughter of this loss. She absolutely loves Dr Z. She often asks if we can go see him and when I say but you're not sick she says, I know but I just want to say hello. You have my deepest sympathies. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Dr Z will be forever in our hearts.

For 11 years Dr. Zigelman not only gave professional care for my premie born babies, but was a great teacher in guiding us as parents in raising them healthy and strong. Every visit was like visiting "grandpa" because he ALWAYS made us feel like family. Fun, loving, excellent in practice. Dr. Z you will be greatly missed. Especially from "your boys", as you called them. My prayers are with your family during this Shiva, your lovely staff @ Closter office and to the generations of families you have touched.

My family is so saddened to hear about Dr. Zigelman's death.  He was such a kind man.  He was my sons Doctor for 3 years now.  He was the best Doctor ever & we will truly miss him.

I was saddened by the news of Dr. Dave's passing. I met him almost 32 years ago when my son Danny was born. There was nothing Dr Dave couldn't fix. May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort in the knowledge that he helped, cured and comforted so many families during his career. I was thrilled to call him my doctor and honored to call him my friend. Namaste Dave, you were the BEST!

We are sadden to hear the news of Dr. Z's passing. He was my children's doctor since they were born. (19) years. My family loved and respected him. He will be missed.
