Dear Judy and family,
We are no longer Bergenfield residents, but, I do remember speaking to Manny on several occasions about some of the Judaica items I have. He was such a pleasant gentleman, &, so happy to share his vast knowledge on the subjects we discussed. I know you had a happy life with him, as, it was quite obvious to all that saw you together..I wish you and your family peace during this very difficult time.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of a beautiful gentleman. When I lived in Bergenfield years ago I met Manfred and we spoke about 10-15 minutes on a few subjects, which time and my age do not allow me to recall. May his family be comforted knowing he is now in the arms of G-d. Rest in eternal peace!

Mr. Anson (even now at age 47 I am still calling you that),
Your humor, kindness, knowledge and love will be missed more than you could ever imagine. From the times of growing up and visiting your home when I was just a kid, to the times of laughing hysterically and telling stories around the gazzillion menorahs at Debbie's home on hannukah. You will always be loved and missed and will always be an inspiration. I remember how awesome it was when I saw the menorah at the Statue of liberty and realized that it had belonged to you at one time. That menorah will always be a bold reminder of the type of man you were. G-d bless you and may you rest in peace. Ilene Ash-McKechnie, Doug Mckechnie, Ilana Ash and Samantha Ash

I will miss you so much, Opa. You have taught me everything I know about chess and the basics of math. I wish you made it to my Bar Mitzvah but it was just too much for you. I will keep you in my heart forever.

My heart aches at this news, but surely there is a place in God's heaven for this wonderful man, my friend, and mentor. I will miss him, for certainly he was a role model, and an inspiration to all who knew him. I am so glad that I got to see him one last time in October.

Dear Manfred, I will miss you so much. In the last 6 years we had become so good friends and i learned so much about your life in Germany, in our common town Dinkelsbuehl. I learned how it was for you Jewish people and i miss you all in Dinkelsbuehl too.
