Murray Bernholz, 87, Shoah survivor, passed away May 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved Husband of Julia for 62 years. Cherished son of the late Yaakov and the late Rosa Bernholz. Dear brother of the late Tova and the late Yosef who both perished in the Shoah, the late Bluma, and the late Sala. Devoted father of Lisa (Bruce) and Jerry (Helaine). Adoring grandfather of Gillian, Briana, Jeffrey, and Sarah. Ecstatic great grandfather of Jack. Born in Wolanow, Poland, liberated from Auschwitz by the American Army, brought to Palestine as a survivor of the Holocaust where he lived until he married the love of his life Julia and immigrated to the United States. Member of the IDF during the 1956 conflict where he was an MP. He lived in Brooklyn for over 60 years. He was a successful sweater manufacturer and the proprietor of the third largest Knitting Mill on the east coast. He will be dearly missed by all his family.
