Nora Jasper, 96 died Monday, November 12th, 2018 at The Jewish Home for Assisted Living in River Vale, NJ. She was born August 24th, 1922 in New York, NY to Malvina and Abraham Frishling. She is predeceased by her husband, David Jasper.
Surviving are her daughter, Meryl Wolf, of River Vale, NJ and her son, Michael Jasper, of Newton, MA. Her son-in-law, Bill Wolf, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam Wolf and his wife Dana, Matthew Wolf and his wife Esther, David Wolf and his wife Dana, Gabe Jasper and Zoe Jasper, as well as great-granddaughters Maya and Bella Wolf.
Nora was born and raised in the Bronx NY and later moved to Spring Valley, NY where she lived for 30 years until moving to Old Tappan, NJ. She received a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College and later received a master’s degree in Education from Fairfield University. She had a long career as an elementary school teacher in both New York City and Spring Valley.
Nora loved teaching and was adored by her students and their parents. She was especially remembered for the plays she adapted and produced with her classes. She loved showtunes, dancing, tennis, mah jong, canasta, bridge and other card games and particularly enjoyed sharing her love of games with her grandchildren.
