When it came to her grandchildren, we all remember going down to Florida. It started by them greeting us at the Airline gate. In the morning, Poppy would start our day off by making us a big breakfast. I always remember waking up to the smell of French toast. During the day, we went to the community pool. We then passed the time by playing cards. Then, Nanny and Poppy would take us out to dinner for the “early bird special”. After dinner, poppy made a “Malted” or banana split.  They always managed to make us feel like their favorite, especially when Nanny called us on our birthday and melodically sang happy birthday to us.

While our family and I stand deeply grieved by the loss of one of the pillars in our family, we are also thankful for the chance to have had her. After all, not too many people have had the privilege of knowing someone as remarkable as her. We will always keep her in our minds and hearts, where her memory will live on for as long as we do. We love you Nanny.
