Dear sister-in-law of Gideon Telpaz, Yigal Telpaz and Ruth Granite. Born in Romania,
Renee graduated from the National Academy of Music in Bucharest, Romania. She sang
at the National Opera Company in Bucharest for 5 years in many leading roles. She
immigrated to Israel and was a top singer in 1961 and 1962, winning the Isaac Stern Grant
to study in Italy. In 1964, she sang with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra with a cast of
singers from La Scala Di Milano the opera Don Giovanni. She performed in many countries
in Europe before immigrating to the US in 1970, where she sang leading roles in many companies.
For the past 20 years she was a teacher of opera singing to professional opera singers in NY and
NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish
