Richard Kompel, age 80, passed on October 3, 2026; born June 24, 1946, in Powidz, Poland, Richard lived in Emerson, New Jersey.
He was a man with the biggest heart—someone who gave more of himself to others than he ever kept for himself. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything, he carried an imagination so vivid and a creativity so boundless that he could build something beautiful from nothing more than an idea.
To him, one man’s trash was another man’s treasure, and he proved it every day through the things he restored, the visions he brought to life, and the people he helped without hesitation.
He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. His legacy lives on in every life he touched and every creation shaped by his hands and his heart.
A Memorial Service will be held at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601, US, on October 8, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
