Ruth Hoffman, neé Ruth Ostrofsky, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 88 years of age. She is survived by her sons, David (Tamara) and Steve, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and grandchildren, Marlena, Jessica, AJ, and Zachary. Predeceased by her husband, Irving, and her son, Brian. She was passionate about education, literature, family and friends. Born in Brooklyn, she was the youngest of three siblings. She was the first in her family to attend college, which she paid for herself. She received a bachelors and masters’ degree in education from Brooklyn College. She taught in the NYC and NJ public schools and later worked as a corporate administrator at Eastern Meats. After leaving Brooklyn, she resided in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, for over fifty years.
Friends may begin to arrive at 11:45 for ample time to pay respects to the family.
