Sandra Lynn & Joseph Czuch

Sandra worked as a bookkeeper for many years, most recently at PIM Brands, Inc. Outside of working hours, she could almost always be found with her husband, Joe. She was a friend to anyone who met her, an avid reader, and a self-described “reluctant cook,” whose greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Her strong work ethic, genuine warmth, gentle manner, and utter selflessness were just some of her outstanding qualities.

She was survived for 48 hours by her husband of 61 years, Joseph; and is survived by their children, Rachel Taylor (Neil) and Mona Steinberg (David); and five grandchildren, Emma and Adam Taylor, Matthew, Evan, and Cara Steinberg.

Memorial contributions can be made in the memory of Sandra Lynn Czuch to the JCC on the Palisades Senior Services or the Jewish Family and Children's Services of Northern New Jersey.

Joseph Czuch of Tenafly, formerly of River Edge, Bronx, NY, and Havana, Cuba, 89, died on December 19. He was buried with military honors alongside his wife, Sandra.

Joseph first came to the United States in 1945, studying at Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Crown Heights. Later, he proudly served in Korea with the U.S. Army as the chaplain’s assistant. He was a diamond setter by trade both in Cuba and in the U.S. He adored and was adored by his grandchildren and loved to play and watch all sorts of games with them—cards, dominoes, table tennis, bowling, baseball. He was generous to a fault, loved nature and dogs in particular, and had a mischievous spark that made him look younger than his years. Throughout his life, even until his very last days, he was a man of unshakeable faith.

He was pre-deceased by his wife of 61 years, Sandra, by 48 hours; and survived by their children, Rachel Taylor (Neil) and Mona Steinberg (David); and five grandchildren, Emma and Adam Taylor, Matthew, Evan, and Cara Steinberg.
