Born on August 13, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, to Essie and Sam Krakow, Sheila was raised alongside her beloved older sister, Eileen. A proud graduate of Taft High School, Sheila went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in art from Hunter College in 1961 — the same year she married the love of her life, Edward Faerber.
Sheila’s artistic spirit and caring heart shone through in every part of her life. She worked for many years in a real estate office, where her warmth and attention to detail left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her professional life, Sheila was deeply committed to her community and faith, dedicating her time as a volunteer at Congregation B’nai Israel in Emerson, New Jersey, which remained her spiritual home for many years.
Above all, Sheila’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Jodi and Michael, a loving mother-in-law to Roy and Yolanda, and a proud and adoring grandmother to Steven, Jeremy, Erica, Timothy, Elaina, and Nicholas. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Nancy and Debbi, and by all who were fortunate enough to know her gentle heart, generous spirit, and enduring kindness.
Sheila will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends whose lives she touched so profoundly.
A graveside service will be held at New Mount Zion Cemetery, located at 153 Orient Way, Lyndhurst, NJ, 07071, on Monday October 20, 2025, 10:30 am. Sheila was a resident of Trenton, New Jersey.
