LAMPERT--Stanley, at age 86, on November 8. Much loved husband of Roslyn, father of Charles (Robin), Shari, Michael (Nancy), Jonathan (Debbie), and grandfather to Jamie, Randy, Iain, Rachel and Jenna.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he attended Lincoln High School, where he was an all-city basketball player. He then attended NYU where he played basketball, threw the discus and was an all-American in the shot put.
He competed for the United States in the Maccabiah games, where he was a double gold medal winner in the shot put and the discus and, in 1954, went on to set a world record in the shot put. After his athletic career, he went on to equal success in the business world, becoming one of the leading life insurance and financial planning practitioners in the industry. He was a successful businessman, lover of opera and the arts, an avid golfer and gardener.
The family will be sitting Shiva on Wednesday, November 11, and Thursday November 12 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at home.
