

Stanley C. Schwartz, a retired US Army Colonel and sales executive, died Feb. 23rd at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY. He was 89.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a North Carolina State University graduate.
Col. Schwartz commanded in active duty in the Army during World War II, and was stationed in England, Okinawa and the United States. He proudly served his country in the Battle of Normandy and in Northern France and Germany.
Upon returning from active service, Col. Schwartz lived in Lutherville, Maryland and worked as a textile manager, and later a sales executive for Levi's brand jeans.
In his retirement, Col. Schwartz was an avid follower of world news, current events and politics, and was a member of the Current Events Club at Rainberry Bay in Delray Beach, Florida where he resided for the past 19 years.
Always physically fit, well into his late 80's, he walked an average of five miles each day.
Col. Schwartz is survived by his devoted long-time companion, Lucille Globus Steiner, formerly of Delray Beach, Florida. His wife, Hilda Schwartz, died in 1995.
Survivors also include his loving family members, Susan and Moshe Castiel, Alexandra and Simon; and Robin and Michael Steiner, Jake, Casey and Julia of New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, at 2:00 pm, at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity or the United Jewish Appeal.
