Although I don't remember him all that well, his sister, Melissa, and I were very close grade school friends back the late 50's and early 60's in Grandview before she moved to New York.  She has been on my mind these past few months and I tried to find a way to contact her, but the only phone number I could locate was no longer in service. We do vividly remember Steve's visit to Breisach in September of 2019 and the speech he gave when the exhibition on the Eisemann family was opened in the former family apartment.
He supported generously the continuation of the work done in the Blaues Haus (www.blaueshausbreisach.de) in memory of the Eisemann family and the jewish community.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Steve's passing. He was a giant in the media field and a brilliant strategist, visionary and a cultivator of truly talented people. He appreciated thoughtful discourse and divergent thinking--always conceptualizing how a business can evolve and grow. While his business acumen is well known, I always appreciated Steve's courtesy and respect towards others. He was a private person, but he would show glimpses of sentimentality when talking about certain people or events. He was a generous benefactor of his community but again, chose to remain private, letting his good deeds speak for themselves. Steve took a chance on hiring me at a difficult time in my life  and I truly valued his mentorship, support, guidance and advice. He certainly left his mark on the company he created, the people whose lives he enriched and the communities he served. My sincere condolences to his family and friends--may his memory be a blessing.

Stephen Stoneburn rescued us from the wilds of Belle Mead, NJ, in the  cold-numbing winter of 1996 when he acquired a handful of medical journals, founded Quadrant HealthCom, and moved us to Chatham, NJ. One of those acquisitions was Cutis, a dermatology journal, with which I am still affiliated. Those early years included potluck Christmas parties in the cafeteria and a plaque to celebrate our 10th anniversary as a company. As the acquisitions grew, we became Frontline Medical Communications, and then a part of WebMD, and I find that I am spending my career in the company that Steve created. Steve was well known for his intelligence and dry wit, but we were always surprised by the fact that he was a natural athlete. During those Quadrant/Frontline years we would have a company picnic that included a softball game. I can almost hear Steve say, "When do we play?"

Steve will forever have a soft spot in my heart. I am grateful to have known him as a hands-off manager who inspired his people to tackle challenges and create something from nothing. Steve gave people the opportunity to grab the reins and build their vision. Steve himself was a visionary, who supported the meaningful work and dedication of the many people he recruited, ultimately establishing Frontline Medical Communications as a leader in the industry. I am thankful to have glimpsed his softer side – when he shared his love of fine food and wine, and his many adventurous travels; even more touching was his unexpected kindness towards my daughter. I am saddened his life was cut so short. Grateful for all he inspired. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I wish the Stoneburn family my sincere condolences. I had the pleasure of working for Steve at both Quadrant and Frontline (for over 10 years) in a sales & management role. I am eternally grateful for Steve taking a chance on a 25 year old "digital guy" (with no sales experience). At a time where experience was the highest gauge of success, he allowed me to join the sales team. He then supported my growth by assigning great mentors along the way, which eventually led to a c-suite offer at the organization. Steve was always about the numbers and avoided the frills/extra non-sense...which I personally respected. Again, thank you for playing a pivotal role in both my career and life!

There was not one time that I went into Steve's office that I did not come out smarter than when I entered.  True respect for the man.  May his memory be a blessing.

Steven Stoneburn was a wonderful, engaging and supportive mentor to me when he hired me to join Quadrant (now FMC) in October 2007.

He was unique. He loved to engage in lively conversations about opportunities to grow our business, expand our current partnerships, and develop new, innovative and exciting revenue streams. He encouraged me to be entrepreneurial, passionate, inquisitive, think out-of-the-box and be tenacious.

There are not many CEOs or mentors like Steve Stoneburn anymore. He will be missed!! My deepest condolences to his family.

With deep sadness we learned of the death of our friend Stephen G. Stoneburn in New York.
Steve came to the opening of the permanent exhibition "Jewish Life in Breisach 1931" in September 2019. His presence represented the descendants of the Eisemann family; his wife Michelle, his sister-in-law Sandy Ehrlich, her husband and the great-grandchildren of Michael and Clara Eisemann and their families. Steve opened the celebration in the garden of the Blue House. He also took part in the 1650 year celebration of the city of Breisach am Rhein, as well as in the workshops with the pupils of the Hugo Höfler Realschule Breisach.
We didn't know Steve well then. Without knowing how passionate he was about good food and good wine, we were happy to be able to give him a real treat with his farewell dinner at the Kaiserstuhl. It's so sad that there won't be a repeat.
Steven went from being his wife and stepdaughter Lauren's companion at the naming of the Michael-Eisemann-Platz in 2015, to becoming a close and committed friend and supporter of the Blue House in 2019.
The Blue House and the city of Breisach are grateful to Steven and his family for making possible the continuation of our work over the past two years. For us, this has meant appreciation of the work that has been done at the Blue House, and also the work that lies ahead.
In August we spoke to Michelle and Steve via ZOOM about the further development of the various projects, and asked Steve if we could announce his financial support. He said yes, but for one reason only: he hoped that in doing so his support might serve as a model for others to follow his example.
Our condolences go to his wife Michelle and stepdaughter Lauren and their young family, as well as his sister and the Ehrlich family . From now on our work at the Blue House will remain closely linked to the memory of Steve.
