I was saddened to learn if the passing of Walter Krug. I recall the warm hospitality Walter and Marion extended to me as a student in Baltimore many years ago, when I was a regular Shabbat guest at their home. Marion and Walter were a wonderful example of people who, in the wake of the Holocaust, rebuilt their lives and started families -- becoming pillars of the community. 

In the words of this week's haftarah:  "

To Walter's family,
I had the privilege of working with Walter at Holy Name.  What a lovely man.  Always called people by their name, always happy to help.  I was so very sorry to hear that he passed.  I will say a prayer for him.

Dear John  and Sharon, my condolences to you and your family.  Mr. Krug was a patient of ours for a very long time. He was such a kind and wonderful man. Loved his children and grandchildren.  He told us about his life, and what a life he lived. Mr. Krug will be greatly missed.

   I've only known Walter for 12 years since I became a volunteer at HNMC.  It has been a privilege and a joy to have known him.  He was one of the most positive people I have ever met.  When I learned his story I was overwhelmingly impressed.  May I express my sincere sorrow for your loss.  He always spoke with great pride of his family both here is the US and in Israel.  As we pray in my faith tradition:  Eternal Rest grant him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him.  Amen.
