It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Zelda Boreisha at the age of 91.
Born on October 14, 1933, Zelda was the eldest of three children born to Ida and Herman Horlick in Staten Island, New York. Zelda lived a life defined by grace, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She married the love of her life, Arthur Boreisha, and together they built a legacy full of love, laughter, and enduring partnership until his passing. Zelda went to Jersey City State College and graduated with a degree in teaching. She later served as the PTA president of the Little Ferry School System. Zelda was co-owner of the Little Ferry Liquor Store and actively supported her husband’s service to the Little Ferry Volunteer Fire Department, where she was also a member of the Little Ferry Ladies Auxiliary Volunteer Group.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Zelda leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and resilience.
She is survived by her 3 children: Ronald Boreisha, Wendy Lembersky and Toni Barr and their spouses, Laurie, Robert and Russell; her grandchildren: Cydney, Torie, Hannah, Harrison, Rachael and Wills; and her great-grandchildren, Rosie and Jonah, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Zelda was known for her love of making everyone around her laugh until they cried with her whit and one liners. Her family would like to thank the caregivers and friends who offered support and companionship during her final years.
Burial was at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave, Paramus, NJ, 07652.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Little Ferry Fire Department and/or the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack Medical Center.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. And in the words of Zelda herself..."thank you for leaving”.
