

McCleave, Blanche Olga (Nicholson) age 94 of Halifax passed away on May 23, 2012 in Halifax. Born in Hillsdale, Kings County, New Brunswick she was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret Nicholson (Porter).
Blanche spent most of her adult life as a resident of Halifax, with the exception of two brief periods in Wolfville. She was an employee of the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University for many years. Upon retirement she served as a volunteer with several organizations including the Red Cross and Saint Andrew’s United Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Patricia of Ottawa and Janet of Halifax; two sons: Alec (Heather) of Halifax and Spencer (Sandy) of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren: Kolya, Keturah, Julia and Caitlin; three great grandchildren: Aliana, Zoe and Gabriel; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband: J. Edward McCleave, five brothers, three sisters and several cousins.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4 pm Saturday May 26, 2012 with a memorial service 2 pm Sunday May 27, 2012 both in Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Halifax, with Martha Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, the CNIB or a charity of choice.
