Cecilia M Doucette (Stacey)

February 6, 1965February 10, 2020

Doucette, Cecilia Mary age 55 of Halifax passed away on February 10, 2020, she was a daughter of the late Delbert John and Doris Mary (Kidd) Doucette.

Cecilia’s life was tragically cut short and she will forever be missed by countless friends, colleagues and those whose lives she touched in one form or another sharing her boundless love for life. Being in the service industry, her lust for life was born out of the love of doing for others. Her love of family sustained her, especially during the Christmas holidays, always her favorite time of the year. All those who knew and loved her would agree she shared her mom’s passion of being in the kitchen surrounded by loved ones.

She loved Nova Scotia summers and spending time at the beach. She would either take someone along with her or find her own solstice; she very simply just loved the sound of the waves and the sun on her face. There probably wasn’t a beach in Nova Scotia that she hadn’t visited. What we wouldn’t do for just one more hug, one more giggle and to hear your laughter just one more time. She made everyone feel special, because she was.

Cecilia is survived by Paul Stacey and step-daughters; Lyndsey (Mark), Jennifer (Mark) and Kourtney (Julia); her four special grandchildren; siblings, Cheryl Warren (Gary), Barbara Crouse (Terry), Brian Gorman, John Gorman (Bernadette), and Daryl Gorman (Louise); her life-long friend, Ray McKinley, who will find it hard to imagine life without her, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews from near and far.

A Celebration of Life/Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 15 at 2pm from Gospel Light Baptist Church, 1266 Old Sambro Road, Harrietsfield, NS. Cecilia was a childhood friend and although we lost touch, I can only ever remember her laughing and smiling. It sounds like that’s the way she lived her life, which is a great example for us all. I’m so very sorry for friends and family at this time, my sincere condolences.

When Cecelia was living with Dave and I in St.Catharines, she had made herself a big plate of fries and gravy for lunch. She sat down on a chair in the living room to watch tv and eat, and our cat was up on a shelf behind her. I happened to look over her way and the cat jumped down right into her plate. She laughed her ass off about it. Cleaned up the cat took out any fur she could find and continued to eat. Will never forget it, and her expression. With her love for cats it didn't bother her in the least....lol

So very sorry to hear the passing of Cecilia. One of the best to serve the public in the food industry. She was also in my life in earlier days as she once dated my brother. Condolences to all families at this very sad time. May God Bless you all.
