Charles Christopher Loppie, age 81 of Halifax, passed away on January 6, 2016 at Victoria General Hospital. He was a son of the late Sydney George and Ethel May (Allison) Loppie and husband to the late Joan Mae (Smith) Loppie (August 2015).
Charlie was known as “The Mayor of Quinpool Road” famous for his interior decorating and sign making. He always had a kind word to say or a joke to share with everyone he met.
He is survived by his 4 daughters, Joanne Loppie of London, ON, Crystal Loppie of Halifax, Lorie Loppie of Dartmouth and Patricia Loppie of Stellarton, NS; his two brothers, Jimmy of Toronto and Leroy of Halifax; sister, Rose of Halifax; his 3 grandchildren, Chassidi, Brandy Nicole and Sheidda and great-grandchildren Aries and Aubrey.
Charlie was predeceased by his brother, George; sisters, Helen, Mary, Winnifred, Clara, Shirley, Esther, Grace and Alvena and his wife, Joan.
Visitation 6-8pm, Sunday, January 10, 2016 with funeral service 2 pm, Monday, January 11, both in Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Halifax, Dr. Rhonda Y. Britton officiating. Cremation to follow.
